Spring Break 2012

For spring break this year, we headed south in search of warmer weather!  We spent the week with Andy's family in Southern Utah and in Las Vegas.  We crammed so many fun activities into one week; here's a brief recap of what we did:
  • Saturday we went to St. George and met up at the park with Clark and Julie's families.  We had a quick lunch and then chased kiddos around while they enjoyed their cousins and the sunshine.  After lunch we headed to Clark's house and attempted to give the little one's an afternoon nap while we watched General Conference.  Pizza and salad for dinner, then we sent the men off to Priesthood meeting while the women and children played and visited some more.
  • Sunday we watched more Conference, then had a nice dinner with Julie and Clark's families again.  Monday was relaxing, we just hung around Cedar, took naps and enjoyed not having anywhere we had to be or anything we had to do!  That evening, Tim and Sue were kind enough to watch the boys while Andy and I went to see The Hunger Games.
  • Tuesday we packed our bags and headed back to St. George so that Andy and I could go to the temple.  That afternoon, we left with Tim and Sue for Las Vegas.  Once we arrived, we checked into our condo, went for a quick swim and had dinner and the Steak n' Shake.  We put the boys to bed, then relaxed for the evening while Tim and Sue went to see The Hunger Games.
  • Wednesday morning we ventured out to see the "sights" of Vegas.  A nice breakfast buffet at the MGM Grand was followed by a tour of the M&M factory, a stroll along the strip, and the gardens at The Bellagio.  Back to the condo for afternoon naps for the boys, then we went bowling and to dinner at The Outback.  Ryan thought bowling was the greatest thing ever and asked to go again the rest of the trip!

  •  Thursday morning we loaded up the car again and headed out to see the Hoover Dam.  It really is quite a site to behold if you're ever that direction!  We walked out on a big bridge over the water that overlooks the Dam.  It was really windy that day, as you can see :)  On the way home from the dam, we stopped at PF Changs for lunch, then got the boys down for naps before Andy and I headed to the Outlet Mall to do a bit of shopping.  Didn't have much luck at the Outlets, so after returning home to check on the boys and grab a bite to eat, we headed back out to a different mall where we both scored on some new jeans.  Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for keeping the boys!
  • By Friday morning it was time to check out of the condo and head back to Cedar City.  We make a short detour to the Red Rock Preserve and then met Aunt Jan for lunch.  We got home Friday night just in time to pick up Julie's kids in St. George (she and Tige were headed on a cruise) and to see David and Cristal (and family) on their way to Pheonix.
  • Saturday morning we packed up to head home, but not before hitting the Cedar City Easter Egg Hunt.  Ryan was pretty excited to go pick up eggs with his cousins, and even more excited to discover all the candy and treats inside the eggs!

We had a great time visiting family, seeing some sights, and enjoying warmer weather.  Thanks to everyone for a memorable Spring Break!
